Peter F. Bowen
Peter was born and raised in Richmond. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in English with a focus on Pre-Law from the Virginia Commonwealth University, and his Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law.
As the son of two Richmond attorneys, Peter had the opportunity to travel around to different Virginia Courts and Correctional Facilities from an early age. In fact, much of his childhood was spent in a law office. Later in life, as a student at Virginia Commonwealth University, Peter had the privilege of working hands-on with residents at the Richmond City Jail in writing workshops that were aimed at teaching recovery through reflective writing. The program was so successful that Peter was invited back to the jail on his own as a leader and teacher of similar writing-based workshops.
Before graduating law school and becoming a lawyer, Peter spent his entire life being exposed to the Virginia criminal justice system in one way or another. His lifetime of experience and exposure coupled with his passion for social and criminal justice inspire Peter to be an effective advocate for all of his clients; no matter how big or small the case.
